Four generations, 35 years, and approximately 209,000 hand stitches later, this Cathedral Window Quilt is a product of pure determination. Begun in 1977 by Catherine Fugerer, her family finished it in her honor in 2012. It is a compilation of baby clothes, grandma's favorite apron, a prom dress, etc., and pieces representing hobbies, vocations, loves, etc., of friends and relations and many "colors" brought back from trips all over the world. Each one of us recognizes a different personal story when we look at it. Evelyn Rogers, Susan R. Grella, and Catherine Grella also worked on this quilt. |
